We all know unmanaged employee stress and lack of presence negatively impact performance — and can ultimately lead to illness and turnover.
Traditional workplace wellness initiatives are designed to educate employees with the expectation they will implement the practices on their own time. At True North, we change that by building presencing practices into workday routines. We close the knowing-doing gap, create a sustainable shift in workplace culture, and improve employee retention.
Mindfulness in Schools
As a former educator and instructional coach, I know educators need support. We help you provide that support.
Teaching is more than a job — it’s a calling. Because of this, many educators find it hard to build boundaries and care for themselves while serving their students. We empower teachers to find their voice and direct their self care.
After understanding the specific needs of each school and observing the rhythms and patterns already in place, we develop a plan specific to the school community. We can build custom plans for a trimester, a semester, or the whole school year to create the most support.
Many schools are undergoing professional development around closing opportunity gaps and meeting the needs of every student. Equity work is heart work… equity work requires groundedness in the authentic self, and we support that through our embedded practices. We make it possible for teachers to engage in challenging conversations around equity from a place of presence and with the tools to manage their emotional state. We do not provide training around equity and privilege; rather, we build the capacity of individuals to engage wholeheartedly in this work.

Caregiving is primary to the work of nurses, and as we all know, in order to care for others we must care for ourselves. Tending to patients requires an ability to remain calm in stressful situations, the presence of mind to make decisions in short timeframes, and the capacity to listen from the heart.
Our work in health care helps remind nurses to look after themselves in order to better nurture their patients. We stack presencing practices onto the many habits already in place in order to bring space and calm into each hectic shift. Simple reminders like taking a deep breath before entering a patient room will bring nurses into the present moment.
We provide tools to get anchored in the moment in an ever-changing environment. Nurses present in the moment reach better decisions, make fewer mistakes, and create improved patient experiences.
